Doesn't it always feel like all you do each day is making bottles; that's if your baby is not breast fed exclusively. Moms who exclusively bottle feed do so in a whim making it look so easy but in reality, so much planning and practice go into prepping these bottles. Let's go through some basic bottle prep tips and guidelines.
USE CLEAN HANDS
Sounds like a no brainer! But actually, it isn't.
For one, babies do sometimes hold their bottles and by so doing they pick up every microbe deposited on their bottles from their mother's hands. Shortly after, those precious hands go into their mouths with all the germs. Remember that when you scoop formula powder, except you dispose of it after each use, you are basically returning it into the formula can with all contaminants.
USE CLEAN BOTTLES AND BOTTLE PARTS
I will tell you about a personal experience here. With my first baby, burp time meant spit up time. And by spit up time, I mean some real chunky spit ups. I was doing everything right...I was cleaning his bottles right. But guess what, I undervalued the whole idea of separating all bottle parts. Simple, right? How could I have missed that? One day I decided that I will separate all bottle parts at ALL wash times. And that was how our SPIT UPS stopped!
PLAN AHEAD
So your baby hates waiting!! You have successfully put your baby on a schedule, and you know what.. your baby has you on a schedule too, so be prepared. Have bottles ready. Have water ready if needed. And yes, have some clean cloth or paper towel handy to wipe your washed hands dry. If you want to speed up your bottle prep game, check out these gadgets:

BE THE HERO
Mom, no one can replace you. Sometimes, all your baby wants to do is really be in your arms. It's not always about the bottle. You are the special piece to every feeding session. Showing up with a smile and some cuddles makes every feeding session beautiful.
